Fallout 4 Lives On at Games Reviews

Image
Bethesda has a knack for making games with tons of play ability. For reference, the two most played games on my Xbox One are currently Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls Online, two wonderful titles from the RPG, open world experts. We always argue within our staff about the intial cost of video games. Here in Canada especially, your average new release will run you 85-90 after you factor in Federal and Provincial taxes. These are now – in my opinion that is – huge investments for people to make, especially as the economy in Canada continues to lag. Unemployment is on the rise, and full time, good paying jobs are hard to find and to keep. So, value for a price becomes incredibly important, and Bethesda is one of the best. There is tons more DLC coming for Fallout 4, and lots of DLC has already launched for The Elder Scrolls Online. We have reviews and articles of all the releases available on the website, so be sure to check them out. If you are struggling for a bit of extra entertain

Nintendo Cannot Afford Another WiiU

Image
I think it’s fairly obvious that bringing to market something that rivals the Xbox One or PS4 is just not going to be enough. If it’s going to be comparable in many ways, then it needs to innovate in others. And they can’t port unused innovations over and try to appeal them to a mass audience either. Amiibo support on the NX is not enough to make some say, “Wow, I need that console.” Bringing a comparable console to the market just won’t cut it, and in fact, it would be a missed opportunity. Technology has already changed since the Xbox One and PS4 launched a few years ago, and it has changed enough that rumors are surfacing about a PS4.5, something a bit better than a PS4, but still a PS4 at heart. Nintendo needs to be that PS4.5, or success will elude the video game giant once again. I love Nintendo, and I love my Wii U. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, and the games that have launched on it have been pretty good. Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, and Super Mario 3D World have all been

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 First Impressions

Image
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is now out on the Nintendo Switch. We just got received the game yesterday from Nintendo Canada and so we are very early in the game. Here are our first impressions… If you’ve played Xenoblade Chronicles 1 or 2, then the third game will seem familiar but different. The story is not connected to the other games so far. It starts off with a group of new characters who are part of a military that’s fighting a war against another military. Lots of people are dying. And these characters end up going on a mission that looks like it’ll take them on a new path but I’m not really sure where that path will lead them yet. I’m trying to not give too much away. Though honestly I don’t know too much yet. The story is epic and a little bit confusing so far. There are a lot of cutscenes. There has been some gameplay though. The battle system will seem familiar to anybody who played Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. So far its more like first Xenoblade than the second

Call for the ban of Loot Boxes in video games in the UK.

Image
As one of the main priorities of GambleAware is the well-being of the UK citizens, the body is already lobbying that the incoming Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, who will replace Boris Johnson, prioritise putting in place better regulations regarding the use of loot boxes in video games. These new regulations will further protect people in danger of gambling addiction and other associated risks, especially underage players and young children. This move by GambleAware is also supported by the Children’s Commissioner for England. The body has engaged itself in the argument that loot boxes be banned in video games and categorised as gambling as it puts children in danger since these microtransactions are not monitored or censored. What are Loot Boxes? Loot boxes aren’t conventional Esports betting offered by many UK betting apps . They are considered an indirect means of encouraging players to spend money by buying boosters to increase the chances of winning a game. The probl

Diablo Immortal's Huge Success Isn't a Threat

Image
Diablo Immortal passed more than $100,000,000 in revenue in just eight weeks since it launched. That has caused some panic in the community. Rightly so, I guess. When a popular hardcore IP launches on mobile it’s always cause for concern. Remember when EA revived a bunch of beloved franchises like Dungeon Keeper for mobile and completely messed it up? Unfortunately, yes. we remember that. But the issue there is more about chasing what’s immediately popular. It isn’t necessarily about retooling popular IPs for the mobile audience, as has been done with Diablo Immortal . It would be very easy to panic about what this means for the future of the Diablo franchise. But in the short term, we know what it means for the future of the Diablo franchise. The next game will launch in the next 12 months, probably onto Game Pass. There may be monetization – when isn’t there in this day and age? But it seems unlikely that will have been changed because of Immortal. In fact, this is just furthe
